Billericay Announce Double Signing
Ryman League Premier Division club Billericay Town signed two new players ahead of Saturday`s FA Trophy defeat by Blue Square Premier side Rushden & Diamonds.
Billiercay announced that Matt Hall has signed until the end of the season.
The midfielder originally joined Town on a month's loan from Leyton Orient in October, and had impressed until he suffered a nasty ankle injury in the home game against Carshalton Athletic.
He played 45 minutes for Orient`s reserves last week to test his fitness and was then returned to New Lodge in time for the Diamonds game.
Unable to play in the Trophy game due to being cup-tied, experienced goalkeeper Paul Nicholls has arrived from league rivals Margate.
Not unknown in the area after a spell with Heybridge Swifts and most notably Chelmsford City, where he spent three seasons, Nicholls started his career with Chelsea and also spent two years with Havant & Waterlooville.

Horsham Ready For Tough Wealdstone Encounter
Horsham will make just the one change to the team which lost at Aveley for tonight's visit to Wealdstone in the Ryman Premier Division.
Midfielder Steve Sargent serves a one game suspension, while centre back Ben Andrews is thought to have recovered from a back injury sustained at the weekend.
Manager John Maggs beleives the Hornets will face the division's two strongest sides this week, starting with Wealdstone tonight.
"This is a real tough one," he reamrked. "Outside of Dartfrod, Wealdstone are probably rhe strongest team in the division. They have played very few games and have picked up some good results.
"It will be a very difficult game and in my opinion we are playing the top two sides this week."
After tonight, Horsham host runaway leaders Dartford on Saturday.

Dowson In The Dark Over Sending-Off
Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson has admitted he is completely in the dark over disciplinary action he may face after being sent to the stands in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Sutton United.
The 39-year-old, who faces the possibility of a toucline ban, walked 40 yards from his own dugout to initially calm his players after tempers flared in the wake of James Norwood’s controversial late equaliser at Gander Green Lane.
Dowson, who labelled the standard of refereeing in the Ryman League Premier Division this season as poor, was given his marching orders but insists he doesn’t know why.
“There were a few of my players on the sidelines at that end of the pitch and I walked down to help get it under control. All the players were saying the goal was offside,” he said.
“I soon as I did it I knew it was the wrong thing to do, but football is a passionate game and I ended up getting involved. He didn’t show me a red card so I’m not sure what will happen now.

Margate Shake-Up Squad
Mark Butler, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Margate, has made several changes as he re-shapes his playing squad for the remainder of the season.
Butler confirm that goalkeepers Jake Whincup and Paul Nicholls have signed for Ryman Division One North side Ware and Premier Division Billericay Town respectively, and forward Akwasi Edusei for another Premier side, Tonbridge Angels.
Meanwhile, Antonio Gonella has signed for Margate from Ryman Division One South outfit Dulwich Hamlet and made his debut for the Blues at the weekend against Bognor Regis Town.
Elsewhere, midfielder Kieran Morris has now signed on loan for Division One South neighbours Whitstable Town to gain first-team football, but remains in Butler`s plans.

Pearce Backs The Wealdstone Number Three Shirt
Current England Under 21 manager Stuart Pearce well known to football fans for his no-nonsense tackling and caps for England has helped his former club by sponsoring the player’s kit for the No 3 (left back) position for the next 10 years.
Pearce made 241 appearances as a player for Wealdstone from 1979-1983.
Current left-back and vice-captain Lee Chappell is delighted the former England international has got his name behind the sponsorship.

Boothroyd Helps Out Wealdstone
With the Stones injury problems piling up, Stones manager, Gordon Bartlett has signed up two players on loan deals.
Stones manager Gordon Bartlett has negotiated an arrangement with Us Boss AidyBoothroyd that takes Colchester United midfielder Sam Corcoran (left) to The Vale.
Corcoran,18,is highly rated and signed professional forms for Colchester during the summer of 2009 and is becoming a regular part of the first team set up; he will stay at Stones until the New Year.
Boothroyd, who has very successfully loaned players to Wealdstone during his tenure at Watford, is very keen to ensure that his squad players are able to get match experience and this arrangement suits both clubs.

Brays Backs Sutton United For Play-Offs
Sutton United’s Mr Consistency Alan Bray has every faith boss Paul Doswell’s squad is still good enough to make the play-offs, despite back-to-back league defeats.
Doswell’s men followed up last week’s 2-1 loss to Tooting & Mitcham with a 1-0 reverse at AFC Hornchurch, to leave them two points adrift of the top five - but with at least one game in hand on most of their rivals.
It means United have lost as many matches as they have won as they struggle to find the consistency in the league to match that which they found in a run to the first round proper of the FA Cup.
But Bray, the longest serving player in the current squad with a 129 appearances under his belt, believes reaching the play-off target remains a realistic target under Doswell.
“They had one shot on goal at the weekend and won the game. It was an awful feeling,” he said.
“We had the chances to win, but we have had too many games like that this year. I think we have won eight and lost eight now which is not good enough from this squad.
“We need to string a couple of results together. A good unbeaten run would push us up to fourth or third.
“I think the players we have here are good enough to comfortably get us to the play-offs and I think the squad is good enough to get promoted.
“That is the aim and it would be a massive achievement if we could get there.”
And nothing would give the Fulham-based 23-year-old left-back greater pleasure than getting to the promised land - if only for those at the club who have helped him since switching to Gander Green Lane from Sunday league football as a teenager.
“If we get there I don’t think we’d come straight back down,” he added.
“The people at the club deserve it. It is a great club. The people here have been really nice to me since I came here .
“I only knew one person when I came down so it was hard to start with. I was given a chance and managed to keep my place.
“The season we got relegated was miserable. I’m enjoying myself here now and while you’re doing that there is no need to go elsewhere.”

Beckford & Boateng Leave Kingstonian
Midfielder Karl Beckford reckons he didn’t get a decent crack of the whip at Kingstonian after quitting the Ryman League Premier Division club last week over a lack of starting opportunities.
The 24-year-old (left during his Aldershot days), who made a total of fourteen appearances for the club after arriving , scored three goals in five starts for boss Alan Dowson’s men.
The former AFC Wimbledon man, who was joined in heading for the Kingsmeadow exit door by Des Boateng, has already attracted offers from Dulwich Hamlet and Cambridge City, but he insists he is going to take his time deciding his next move.
“It was a mutual decision. I wasn’t playing as much as I would have liked and feel I should have been given more opportunities. My record when I start speaks for itself I think,” he said.
“That is no disrespect to Alan. I love him to bits and would do anything for him, but I wasn’t happy going to a game on Saturday and not playing.
“Kingstonian’s style didn’t really suit me, but that is not to say they don’t play the right way. I feel like I have contributed and they have been successful.
“I don’t really want to be the sort of player that has been here, there and everywhere. I want to pick the right club for me and see what happens.”

Margate Land Ebsfleet's Read
Ryman League Premier Division club Margate Football have announced the loan signing of defender Charlie Read from Blue Square Premier side Ebbsfleet United.
Read, 19, signed for the Fleet from Coca-Cola League One side Millwall in the summer and although he has been amongst the substitutes, he has not managed to make a full first-team debut.
The loan period is for twenty-eight days and will conclude on the 2nd January, 2010.
He went straight into the squad for the 2-2 draw with Harrow Borough at Hartsdown Park on Saturday.

Horsham Getting Stronger Insists Maggs
Saturday's win at Canvey Island proves Horsham are getting stronger and stronger, according to boss John Maggs.
Goals from Claude Seanla and Lee Carney helped the Hornets move up to fifth in the Ryman Premier Division table courtesy of a 2-1 defeat of Canvey.
And with new goalkeeper Craig Bradshaw impressing behind an ever improving back four, Maggs is delighted with his team's progress.
"All credit should go to every player on the pitch," he reamrked.
"We are getting stronger and we are beginning to look a complete unit from the goalkeeper through to the front two. I could not complain about it.
"Canvey had a lot of the ball and we've coped with everythung, highlighted by the back four defending like trojans.
"I would have come here and taken a point, to get theee keeps it ticking over."

Harkin Departs Farnborough For Kingstonian
Midfielder Mo Harkin has agreed to join Ryman League Premier Division club Kingstonian on a permanent basis from Zamaretto League Premier Division leaders Farnborough, from where he had originally come from on a three-month loan.
A former Northern Ireland under-21 international, Harkin began his career at Wycombe Wanderers in 1995, spending five seasons with the Chairboys.
During his time at Wycombe he was subject of an £800,000 approach from Aston Villa, which, unfortunately fell through due to injury.
Following his release from Wycombe at the end of the 2000/01 season, he moved to Carlisle, followed by stints at Aldershot Town and Nuneaton Borough.
In June 2002 he signed for then Southern Premier side Crawley Town where he spent three seasons, being an integral part of the squad which won the Southern League `treble` in 2003/04.
After his departure from Crawley he had a short spell at Forest Green Rovers before joining Lewes.
Harkin signed for the Havant & Waterlooville in May 2006, and his goal against York City in the FA Cup First Round over York City the following season ensured the club reached the Second Round for the first time in the club`s history.
That year Havant enjoyed an excellent FA Cup run, which came to an end with a 5-2 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield in the Fourth Round, in which Harkin was voted man of the match.
A return to Sussex came at the start of the 2008/09 season, switching to then newly-promoted Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square Premier before signing for Farnborough in January 2009.
K`s manager Alan Dowson said: "Mo is one of the best users of the ball in the league - he wins and then retains it, simple as that. He's got good experience at both professional and non-league level and we're delighted to be able to keep him."
Meanwhile, midfielders Karl Beckford and Des Boateng have been released by mutual consent.
Both former Carshalton Athletic players joined at the end of August and made fourteen and sixteen appearances respectively for the K's.
Dowson said: "Karl needs to be starting more games and Des has been travelling across down from north London so needs to find somewhere more local.
“They came in as part of half a dozen or so when we were have a real tough time and have helped do a great job in turning things round. Good luck to both of them at their next clubs."

Traynor Brace Makes Him Ryman Premier Top Goalscorer
Kingstonian moved into third place in the Ryman League Premier Division after beating Hendon at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.
It was goalless at the break and then Carl Wilson-Dennis broke the deadlock 8 minutes into the second half.
Top scorer Bobby Traynor doubled the K`s advantage in the 77th minute and he made it 3-0 with 6 minutes remaining.
Traynor's double swiftly move him to the top of the Ryman Premier goalscoring charts on 13 goals.

Kingstonian Make Seven-Day Approach For Vines
Billy Smith, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Tooting & Mitcham United, reckons Kingstonian chief Alan Dowson will have his work cut out if he wants to take Paul Vines to Kingsmeadow.
The Imperial Fields manager revealed on Tuesday he had received a seven-day approach for his star striker from his side's play-off rivals.
Dowson has confirmed he has a number of similar enquiries on the go at the moment, but has refused to talk about specific players until he has been given the green light to speak to them.
But Smith has been quick to dismiss any talk of Vines' imminent departure.
“It is a bit of a joke. Four weeks ago Alan was saying he has got the best two strikers in the league and now he wants one of mine,” he said.
“We’ve had a seven-day approach, but there is no way he’ll be going there.”
Kingstonian crashed out of the Surrey Senior Cup 3-2 at the hands of Crystal Palace on Monday night, and the K`s boss knows where his priorities lie.
Dowson, who watched Tooting’s 2-1 win at Sutton United, added: “I’ve got a few seven-day approaches in to strengthen different areas, but I won’t talk about any players until I can talk to them and a deal is done.
“If you are conceding three goals at home you are not going to win matches. That has been the story of our season and it needs to be sorted.”

Four Leave Bognor Regis
Darin Killpartrick, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Bognor Regis Town, announced that several players had left Nyewood Lane.
Ruben French decided to move on recently as his first-team opportunities appeared to be limited and Louie Castles, Billy Franks and Jack Smith have also moved on.
It is fair to say that with a very limited budget, Killpartrick (pictured) has to manage with a small but effective squad, and with the need to continue to search for effective additions to the team, some have to go to free up funds.
Castles will be remembered in particular for his `goal of the season` at Havant & Waterlooville last Christmas, and Smith has consistently given solid, dependable service both last season and this.
It is unfortunate that his recent injury kept him out of the team for so long, making it difficult for him to reclaim his place.

Bradbrook Boost For Dartford
After losing their unbeaten Ryman Premier League record to AFC Hornchurch last weekend, Tony Burman this weekend takes his Dartford side to Grosvenor Vale knowing that their host's too are coming into the game off the back of a heavy defeat last Saturday.
Speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk after the defeat to Hornchurch, Burman was surprised to hear that Wealdstone had been beaten 5-0 at Gander Green Lane by Sutton United.
He said: "I honestly don't know if that makes me feel better or not. We know that they are a very good side - when we played them here (at Princes Park in August) they scored in the first two minutes and then we battered them; their keeper had a great game that day (the game finished in a 1-1 draw) but we'll got there knowing that they're a good side."
Burman then admitted that his sides eight point lead at the tables summit seems to be having an undesired effect on the Darts opponents.
He said: "Thing is that they know that if they are going to close the gap on us they must win their games and that means getting something against us, but we'll travel after having had two good sessions this week with a manager and a group of players who are absolutely gutted at having lost to Hornchurch intent on trying to win the game."
For the Darts have had a rare midweek without competitive football, a point that Burman wishes wasn't the case - especially this week.
"When you lose games you sometime prefer to have a game immediately afterwards on the Tuesday" he said.
"But when we play away, the home team’s have to come at us and hopefully that means that we're going to get a bit more space.
“At this moment in time people are playing with numbers behind the ball against us and trying to hit us on the break - even if that wasn't the way Hornchurch beat us," bemoaned the Darts boss still bitterly upset that his side lost their unbeaten record to a side that failed to have one shot worthy of the name in the whole game last weekend - the only goal coming from a driven right cross that skidded through the goalmouth.
"You know, it still wrangles with me that we've lost to a side that in all fairness haven't had what most people would call a shot on goal in the whole game - it is a funny game isn't it?" smiled Burman
The Darts should have a full squad to choose from - a squad that could soon include Elliott Bradbrook once more.
Bradbrook, who hasn't played for six weeks after suffering ligament damage himself against Tonbridge early in October, has surprised his manager with the speed of his recovery.
"He's making good progress," Burman admitted. "Its scary sometimes that he's making such good progress - he's started to jog on Thursday of last week; he's done a bit more today (Saturday) and so far there's been no adverse reaction."
But the manager at least isn't going to get carried away with the former Maidstone United man's progress.
"What I would say if he's back during January I'd be absolutely delighted, and it goes without saying that if he can get back before then, it would be even better! There's no doubt that we've missed him - he's a quality player and we've missed him without any doubt, but" said Burman adamantly, "the main thing, and the most important thing is that when he does come back he comes back 100 percent!"
Wealdstone have confirmed that a pitch inspection shall take place at 9 o’clock on Saturday morning.

Kingstonian Back To Their Best Insists Duku
Kingstonian defender Francis Duku reckons Ks are close to finding their best league form and eliminating their defensive woes after back-to-back 1-0 victories.
An 87th minute strike from Bobby Traynor saw boss Alan Dowson’s men complete a Ryman League Premier Division double over Carshalton Athletic to move fourth in the table.
The Kingsmeadow chief has been critical of his defence this season as he has seen his side ship 33 league goals so far, despite recovering from a horror start to the campaign.
But towering centre-back Duku, who signed for the club from Walton Casuals in the summer, believes they are close to putting it right as they bid to maintain a credible play-off challenge.
“Getting a cleansheet against Carshalton was the most pleasing aspect of the match, particularly in shutting out one of the league’s top marksmen in Richard Jolly,” he said.
“There has been a large number of players come in since the start of the season and there have been some big changes, which meant all the pre-season work has had to be re-examined.
“We are still working hard through that in training to get things right and bit by bit we feel we are getting there. We are not far away from getting it right.”
Ks slipped up on Monday night against a young Crystal Palace outfit as they crashed 3-2 in the Surrey Senior Cup third round, despite goals from Christian Jolley and Max Hustwick.
It meant Kingstonian have just the league to concentrate on having fallen to Chippenham Town in the FA Trophy last month and proved there is still work to be done with the back four.
But Duku insists it is the league where it counts and a run of form through December should mean Dowson’s squad are well placed for a promotion assault.
“The last two league results have given ourselves a good base to build on. If we can get four or five results you do throw yourself up there,” he added.
“Anyone from second to tenth is in with a chance of consolidating their position over the next few weeks and then seeing what happens.
“The games come thick and fast over the next few weeks. We still need to consolidate after our poor start and see where it takes us.”

Boreham Wood Football Club have announced that following the England "South" versus England "North" "Under 18" trial match on Sunday 29 November 2009, Charlie Hunter has been selected in the full England I.S.F.A. Squad.
Hunter will report to Lilleshall on Wednesday 16 December 2009 and will play in Representative matches against Shrophshire, followed by matches against Australia, Wales and The Army after Christmas. He will then tour Poland and finally finish the Season with a game against Scotland in Scotland.

Three In For Hendon
Ahead of Saturday`s fine 4-2 win over Hastings United, who started the day in second spot in the Ryman League Premier Division, Horsham were boosted by the signing of three new players.
Former Leatherhead, Portsmouth and Dorchester Town goalkeeper Craig Bradshaw fills the vacant number one spot, while Tom Lyons, brother of Jack, and Jorge Lopes both started on the bench.
Lyons was more recently on the books of Dulwich Hamlet, while Lopes joins from Blue Square South side Havant & Waterlooville, for whom he remains dual registered.
Last season the 20-year-old Portuguese striker was a regular starter for Worthing, and in his home country started out with FC Porto as a youth.

Change In Mentality To Boost Tooting's Play-Off Hopes
Billy Smith reckons a change in mentality can be the key to Tooting & Mitcham reasserting their Ryman Premier play-off credentials.
After a run of six straight defeats, the Terrors hit back in fine style on Saturday, recording a 3-0 win at Bognor Regis Town.
Tooting are hoping to add to that at play-off rivals Sutton United tomorrow night (Tuesday), where Smith is once again likely to field his new 4-3-3 formation.
He said: “I felt that although we have scored quite a few goals from midfield this season we needed to have more impetus going forward.
“The ball was coming back at us far too easy when we were trying to get it up front.
“With Paul Vines and Simon Parker up front they were playing too far apart, and we were under the cosh a lot when we shouldn’t be.
“So against Dartford I decided to switch to 4-3-3 and that worked, with Simon playing just behind Paul and Mike Heverin.
“I will still take things game by game, but that seems to be our best option.”
It certainly paid dividends last weekend, with Vines (two) and Parker on target in the much-needed win.
And Smith admitted the win was a weight off everyone’s shoulders.
He added: “It was a big relief - no doubt about it.
“The club does not put me under pressure - I put myself under pressure.
“I have never been afraid to change things if they are not working and I will have no problem doing it again.”
Tooting face three home games in succession, with Maidstone, Hastings and Sutton (Surrey Cup) on the way to Imperial Fields.
But the Terrors boss has shrugged off any talk of home advantage.
Smith added: “To be honest it doesn’t seem to make a difference - in fact we have won more games away from home.
“There isn’t really an atmosphere like in years gone by and the players don’t really look forward to playing there.
“But if you keep winning games more people will come and that is our aim.”

Dagenham Swoop For Tonbridge Angels' Dayes
Dagenham and Redbridge have signed defender Gavyn Dayes from Ryman Premier Division outfit Tonbridge Angels on a non-contract basis.
The 24-year-old has also played for Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic and Welling United.
Dayes becomes the latest in a number of signings as the Daggers continue their push for promotion from League Two.
They signed Darren Currie, Jamie Day and Adam Miller on loan deals earlier this month.

AFC Hornchurch Halt Dartford's Record
AFC Hornchurch came to Princes Park with a simple game-plan – board up the goal and accept the first gift to come their way.
For a long period pre-match, the fixture was in doubt but hard work by ground staff and volunteers turned the saturated turf into a very playable surface, allowing the game to start two minutes early.
Kicking to the Academy End under a Battle of Britain sky, Darts were first to show but chances at either end were few.
Darts did have one from the famed dummy-run free-kick, but the key element in the deception is now elsewhere and the eventual shot at goal was scrambled away by a relieved goalkeeper.
For the Urchins, Mark Janney and Duane Jackman were lively but never really got the better of the home back four.
One thing which was noticeable was the top end penalty area had a spongy and slidy consistency which, on 43 minutes led, to the only goal – a Billy Coyne centre-cum-shot which skipped and slid past a dozen or so players and beyond Andrew Young.
Two minutes after the break, Darts had a free-kick just outside the area in front of goal.
There was a sideways tap, but the shot at goal was high with the ball bringing a shower of debris from the covering roof down on the heads of the serried ranks of the Dartford faithful behind the goal.
It didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the choir in the slightest.
Had this gone in, then obituary-writing could well have been postponed for another day.
Darren Behcet in the Urchins’ goal then went into time-wasting mode, which was derided by the home support but unpunished by the referee.
Hopefully this was brought to his attention by the match assessor at the post-match debriefing because an early yellow card for the visiting custodian would surely have geed up the offender.
In the end the status quo was almost completely maintained, as Hastings, Tonbridge, Wealdstone and Boreham Wood obligingly lost, enhancing Dartford’s goal difference into the bargain.
